I had a blast this thanksgiving! Carlos' parents and Rendon all came to stay with us in Champaign for the holiday. We watched christmas movies and played lots of WII and solitare, and ate more than we needed too! We also went to visit Carlos' cousins in Indianapolis, and that was a lot of fun. Then for the last 2 days we went to Chicago to hang out. In Chicago we stayed at a hotel that was over a hundred and thirty years old. And, 4 presidents have stayed there. It was really pretty. We went to the Navy peir and rode the fariswheel, we ate a nice dinner a lawreys, and we went to Macey's and saw all the cool christmas window displays. There was also a german thing going on where they were selling hand made orniments and christmas decorations. It was really a lot of fun. When we came home from Chicago it was snowing and in the morning we woke up to all white. Thanks Alberto Karen and Rendon for a great thanksgiving! We missed you Brown family!

Christmas at our home!
I'm so excited I can't even tell you. There is no better time of the year than at Christmas time. I love everything about Christmas, the snow, the music, the smells, the feelings, and most importantly.....the meaning of Christmas. What a blessed time of year. Carlos and I promised ourselves we would not put up anything Christmas until right before thanksgiving. Well friday night rolled around and things just got crazy. We listened to christmas music, and put up the little decorations that we have. It all turned out beautiful and I'm so excited that I got to decorate my own house this year. Also, I cut my hair again, and colored it brown. Here are a few pictures again. By the way, I didnt really do my hair today nor do I have on makeup. enjoy!

Halloween
For Halloween, Carlos and I took the moped to go get some dinner. We wore our costumes the whole night. We thought that other people would be dressed up but they weren't. We didn't care though. On our way home, this redneck yelled out the window at us and said, "what the hell kind of costume is that?" when carlos turned and looked at him he seemed relieved and said "oh your a banana, I thought you was a yellow KKK" ha. We laughed about that forever. So anyways Carlos was a banana and I was a bee for the 10th year in a row.

Amish pumpkin patch!
So last monday, Carlos and I went to visit the amish pumpkin patch. We were so excited! Once we reached amish territory, we were like kids at a candy store. We'd point and jump up and down and say "there's one!" when we would see on walking or riding a bike. As mean as this sounds, that was not our intentions at all. We are genuily fascinated by their lifestyle. With all the modern technology in this world, they get by without any of it. I have never seen a cuter group of kids playing out in the yards as these little amish boys and girls with their hats and bonnetts on. Anyways, we made it to the pumpkin patch, and I forget exactly how many acres it was, but it was huge. There was every kind of squash you can imagine, a pumpkin that was like 1000 pounds, bakerys (we got homemaid bread and pumpkin bread), a petting zoo, and of course, pumpkins gallore!!!!! We brought our dogs and pulled them around in a wagon. They were so tuckered out by the end of the day. On our way home we tried our darndest to get just one picture of one of their hourse and buggies. as you can tell by our pictures, we never got a good shot. It was a lot of fun and I WILL be going back next year.

Everything comes in 2s!
Now did you really think we were gonna stop at just one dog?! We started off with 2 snakes. Then we moved on to 2 lizards. It was only fitting to get not one, but 2 dogs. We are having so much fun now that our lil Bentley moved in with us. He is definitly a handfull. He is litterally and party animal. Carlos has been a great daddy to his lil guy. I have never heard Carlos talk so much baby talk to anyone. We adopted Bentley from the humaine society here in Champaign. It was love at first sight with this lil guy. He is completely a mut. We have no idea what breed he really is. All we know is that he has a whole lot of cute in him.

Good ol' Champaign
Well, as most of you know, Carlos and I moved to Champaign,Illinios for Carlos to attend law school. We literally left for Illinios the day after we got home from Cancun. The next 2 days were the longest of my life. We drove for 31 hours straight. We never stopped to sleep. It was a lot of fun driving through Colorado, especially when we drove through hail and snow and icy roads going 20 miles per hour dragging a trailer. We drove through a lot of flat lands with nothing but cornfeilds. I was constantly looking out the window to make sure that i didnt see any tornados forming. When we finally made it at midnight on sunday we were sooooo hungry and so tired. We had to unpack the car that night because our bed was the furthest thing back. It was the night from hell! But we made it. Now that we are here, it has been so fun putting my house together and finally getting to use all of our wedding gifts. Carlos is doing well at school. It really has been keeping him busy, but he loves it. I work at a salon in the middle of campus, and im already busy all day. I love the girls I work with and am so happy to be doing hair again. The other day carlos and i attended a gay bar. Im not sure if theres anything wrong with that. ha but we went to watch a drag queen performance, and it was hilarious. Since we've been here I have also ridden a real live train!! It was way cool. We ride our moped everywhere, and we are having the time of our lives. Ill put pictures up of that later. Carlos built a half pipe in our basement and is so proud of his work. I love my husband so much!!!

Cancun
The week after we were in California, we flew out to Cancun for the De La Paz trip. I can't even begin to explain how amazingly beautiful Cancun is. The first thing I remember is going down to take a dip in the ocean and got a bath instead. The water in cancun was soooooooooo warm, I loved it. I have never seen cleaner water in my life. We had so much fun boogie boarding and getting banana monkeys (frozen yummy drinks) served to us in the pool. Karen took me to get a 3 hour massage. It was amazing. We went to see the ruins in Tulum, and I got a real homemade myan shirt. We also went to the cenotes which are underground lakes. On our way to the cenotes we saw a monkey and we got to play with it. The last day we were there we went scuba diving and saw a sting ray that was atleast 4 feet by 4 feet. We also saw a sea turtle swimming with us. Cancun was a lot of fun. I'm so happy for the opportunity I had to go on vacation with my two families. They were both so much fun. I loved the time I was able to spend with both of them.

BEACH!
Alright people, stop bugging me to update my blog. I know my life is way more interesting than yours, but seriously. Well, this summer was so much fun. I went to the beach with my family the first week of August. We did a lot of surfing, boogie boarding, laughing and crying (from laughing to hard). There was more than enough junk food to go around. I loved being with my family and can't wait for the next family vacation.

In loving memory of Garrett Brent Phillips
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
We'll miss you! God be with you til we meet again.

Camping!
This last weekend, we went camping for with Carlos' family in duck creek. It was a whole lot of fun. Karen (my mother in law) has a huge trailor. I'm usually one for sleeping outdoors, but who can resist a nice warm bed with flannel sheets. well, I can't. There were a ton of flies. They didn't care how many times you swatted at them, they weren't going anywhere. We had so many snacks I didn't even know what to do with myself. I'm sure I came home 10 pounds heavier. We went fishing and I caught my own fish!!!! Then Carlos cooked it for me and I ate it. yum yum yum! We had a lot of fun, and it was sad to have to come back to the real world!

Oh the memories!!!
This tag is pretty unique, so I thought I would give it a shot.
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
p.s. Give a memory of carlos too, especially those of you who know him better! =)

Independence Day!
The forth of July was soooo much fun! Carlos and I and some friends drove to California for the weekend. We stayed at carlos' friends Brians house, who pretty much has the coolest parents ever. His house was awesome and had lots of secret rooms and doors that led to places in their closets. It was Crazy. The first day we were in Cali we somehow ate for free all day! There was a BBQ at the beach and the food never ended. Then that night we went to go watch fireworks at mission bay and got free food at the hotel we went to watch them at. Now that's the way to travel. The next day we hung out at the beach all day, I rode a kayak and it was soooo scary. Then I surfed a little and rode the most awesome wave!! That night there was a carnival at the del mar race tracks. We rode an elephant and rode a ton of spinning rides until everyone was sick (except me cause i love to spin). We laughed so hard I think I might have peed my pants. All I can say is that I had so much fun and I can't wait to go back in August with my family!!
